Our Clinic
Sankofa Pediatric Therapy is a comprehensive speech-language clinic treating disorders in children birth through 18 years old. We evaluate, diagnose and treat disorders related to articulation, receptive-expressive language, stuttering/cluttering, and voice.
We meet children where they are by creating an individualized plan of care. Once your child's speech-language needs are identified, we work towards goals to help them communicate in their everyday life, using treatment techniques that are proven and evidence-based.
Our office is located in Sanford, NC. Services are provided within the home, childcare facilities or in office.
Your Speech Language Pathologist
Porshia Sade’ Wicker, M. A., CCC-SLP, obtained two Bachelor’s degrees from North Carolina State University in Spanish Language and Literature and English. She received a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Sade' is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) through the North Carolina Board of Examiners and nationally certified through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Sade’ has served as a SLP mentor and a Clinical Fellow supervisor and is a member of the North Carolina Association of Supervisors in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Sade’ has served as an SLP in Lee, Wake, Alamance, Guilford, and Rockingham County. Her clinical interests include bilingualism, language development, and supervision. “It gives me great joy to provide quality care for all the families I serve! My passion for languages and culture paired with my innate sense of wonder makes being a bilingual therapist a dream! There can be many myths and misconceptions surrounding bilingualism and speech-language disorders, and facilitating greater understanding for my clients, families and other professionals has been a valuable and rewarding task!”

Community Based Rehabilitative Service (CBRS) therapists provide developmental services for children from birth to age three who are part of the North Carolina Infant-Toddler Program (NC ITP).

We believe in treatment that is both evidence based as well as client-centered. As a small, boutique speech clinic, we dedicate the time to determine best therapy practices for your child's individual needs.
Your child's progress is continuously monitored per session to determine their present abilities.
Although there is no crystal ball to predict the exact time frame required before dismissal from speech services, we know that working closely as a team, as the SLP and family, leads to greater overall success!
